Social Media
Twitter, Facebook and a lot more besides. Is it the 21st Century second coming. Probably not. But it is, of nothing else quite interesting. Back in the day we used call “social media” Web 2.0. No one uses that phrase any more. But it was supposed to be the second wave for the internet – where you and I started to have an influence with our comments, blogs and so on.
The next wave was the “semantic” web – where the content and things we saw online were all dynamically created based on what we’d said, searched for or looked at in the past.
So where are we now that social media is so very much ingrained in just about everything?
Well for business, these are the key questions –
- What on earth is all this social media stuff about?
- Does it actually help businesses make money?
- How much of my time is it going to take? Because what I actually need to be doing is selling my stuff not wafting around on Facebook.
