How to change your Twitter timeline to Chronological – 2019 update
Beat Twitter’s Algorithm in three quick and easy steps
Did you know? You’re not seeing ALL the Tweets you should be on Twitter.
That’s because the default setting on Twitter is to show the ‘best Tweets first’.
Interesting use of the word ‘best’. Because that is likely to be a mix of:
- Tweets from people or brands you’ve interacted with and
- Tweets that Twitter would like you to see.
But fear not. It’s very easy to change this so you see all the Tweets in chronological order rather than sifted and sorted by Twitter’s algorithm.
Here’s how to change it.
Mobile
- On your timeline, click you thumbnail icon to display your account set up
- Then click on the ‘Settings and privacy’ option
- Then click the ‘Content preferences’
- Now make sure that the ‘Show the best Tweets first’ is toggled to off
That’s it. You’re done.
Desktop
- Again, click you thumbnail in the top right of the screen.
- From the dropdown, select ‘Settings and privacy’
- Now from this screen, scroll down to the ‘Content’ section
- Where it says Timeline you want to make sure that the ‘Show the best Tweets first’ option is NOT ticked.
And there you go.
Now you’re going to see ALL the Tweets from people you follow in chronological order, rather than the ones that Twitter thinks you should be seeing.
